Astral Dominions

Since the inversion of the Star Ways, spirems have clustered together to form spiral groups, similar to how stars shape and form on the universe.  These are called astral dominions.  Hence Spirems can cluster together as biophotonic spirals as well as live together atomically, not unlike humans.  Each astral dominion is served by few to several human clans.
